Karen Foley, has successfully been writing her blog for the Bangor Daily News for over a year now. By successful, she means a few people read it, and she has not been sued, stalked or fired since starting it. Originally from Rhode Island, she has lived in Maine for 24 years. Like many flatlanders, she came to live in the woods and “raise chickens, vegetables and babies!” When she had her fill of that, she packed up her clan and moved to Bangor where she raised four of her own children and a few extras who showed up at the house. Now divorced, with children all grown, she’s living in an apartment in downtown and trying to figure out what adventures the second half of her life will hold. Foley, a life-long, non-traditional student, has an Associate Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Women’s Studies and is currently a senior in the Bachelor of University Studies program at UMaine with minors in both English and Women’s Studies. She works as a Communications Coordinator and Technical Editor at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center at the University of Maine.________________
